For the FranklinOS mobile app · last updated August 20, 2026

FranklinOS is a work tool for employees of Franklin AC, Plumbing & Electrical. It shows a technician the calls they have been assigned and lets them record what they found and did. It is not for customers, and there is no way to create an account in it — the office issues them.

This policy covers the app. If you are a customer rather than an employee, the policy that covers you is the one on getfranklin.com.

What the app collects

WhatWhyHow long
Your name and mobile number Your number is how you sign in — we text a six-digit code to it — and your name is what appears against the work you record. For as long as you work here, in your employee record.
Where you are Only to work out how long it would take you to drive to your next call, and only while the schedule is open on screen. Not kept. The position is sent, used to ask Google for one driving time, and discarded.
Photographs and videos Pictures of equipment and conditions, attached to the job you took them on. Videos record sound. With the job, as part of its record.
What you record Notes, forms, quotes, materials, payments taken and the times you clocked in and out. With the job or the timesheet, as business records.
Crash reports When the app falls over, so it can be fixed. Includes your name and which screen you were on. 90 days.

What it does not do

Who else sees it

Only the companies that run parts of the system for us, and only the part each one needs:

We will also hand over records where the law requires it, and to our insurers or advisers where a job is disputed.

Your part of it

The work you record here is a business record and stays with the business. Your own details — your name, your number, your timesheet — are yours to ask about. Write to the address at the bottom of this page and we will tell you what is held about you, correct anything wrong, and explain why anything is kept.

You cannot delete your account from inside the app, because you cannot create one there either — the office does both. When you leave, your access is switched off and your records are kept for as long as the business is required to keep them.

Keeping it safe

Sign-in is by a code texted to your number, or by a password with a second factor where your account has one. The sign-in on your phone is a key held in the phone's keychain rather than a stored password, and the office can revoke a single phone without touching anyone else's. Everything travels over an encrypted connection.

Children

The app is for employees. It is not directed at children and nobody under 16 can have an account.

Changes

If this changes in a way that matters, we will say so here and change the date at the top.
